Illinois has some of the most restrictive firearm laws in the United States. Cook County specifically has banned assault weapons and magazines that hold more than ten rounds. it is illegal by state and sometimes federal law to discharge firearms within city limits or incorporated areas. by definition blanked guns have a plug that prevents the gun from discharging blanks. if it can fire blanks its a replica. state laws aren't specific regarding replicas however it is generally discouraged by local law enforcement and the laws regarding real firearms may apply, and WILL apply if you pretend it is a real gun or act as such. For real firearms Illinois requires a FOID (firearms owners identification) this won't apply however transport laws require that a concealable weapon is in a locked container and unloaded.
while not specific it is generally a bad idea and could cause a hassle with local law enforcement.

Oh, you should have done your research BEFORE committing to the purchase/

If you want to fire it, have somebody standing by with a camcorder. When the cops show up, tell them, "Hey, we're making a movie here." Maybe that will help, LOL.

Probably no laws against it as such but if you display it, or fire it, you may attract a lot of unwanted attention. Fire it in your house if you have to hear it. If you live away from the city and have close neighbors who are aware of the pistol you could probably fire in your yard.

Who cares, the Constitution protects you, that is what changed. States can try to react but they'll lose. Have a blast! If SC arrests you sue the shit out of them.

@ArcyTheFurryArcanine No, the jews were the ones left in the dark about what was going to happen to them and people are naturally passive. The nazi's just took it slow, hit on an already mistrusted group and there you go. It took about 3 decades here for the jews to even the reconized as a victims group. I believe this year the retribution was finally all done.

@imorio
*and then you say I need to be sure I get my sources right?*
Ad Hominem tu quoque fallacy. And John Lott and Gary Kleck are two criminologists who found the statistics. Targeting Guns: Firearms and Their Control, Gary Kleck, Aldine de Gruyter, 1997 .One such book is more guns less crime. Next you still have not name your source. There are millions of handguns in the US yet fewer than 600 gun accidents a year (National Center for Health Statistics)
